Pretzel Pete, Inc. (Lansdale, PA), a
premier supplier of seasoned pretzel products, is pleased to
announce that its Pretzel Budz® product line has been named winner
of Frontier Magazine’s Buyer Forum for March 2015. Frontier
Magazine is published in the United Kingdom and is the premier trade
magazine for the travel retail sector. The magazine’s Buyer’s Forum
conducts a monthly assessment of new products that are now available
to the travel retail sector (duty free shops). The March 2015
Forum panel consisted of senior buyers from Cathay Pacific, Gebr.
Heinemann and Peace Bridge Duty Free stores.

July 2013 – Exhibiting Pretzel Pete at the Fancy Food Show
SB Global Foods, Inc. exhibited its Pretzel Pete snack brand again at the 2013 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, NY, which is North America’s largest specialty food & beverage event featuring 180,000 products and 2,400 exhibitors from 80 countries & regions. Pretzel Pete was located in the Pennsylvania pavilion of the Javits Convention Center. We had a successful showing at the Fancy Food Show and were able to reach a wide range of distributors, customers, and food service members.

On April 4th, SB Global president Karl Brown participated in a panel discussion at the Annual Export-Import Bank Conference in Washington, DC. The conference was attended by over 1,200 government officials, bankers and business owners. Brown was one of four small business owners that participated in a panel discussion entitled “They did and you can too!” The panel was moderated by Ms. Rebecca Jarvis, Chief Business and Economics Correspondent for ABC News. Other speakers at the conference included Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, Former Adminstrator of the EPA, Carol Browner and Gillian Tett of the Financial Times.

In an effort to realign its’ structure in alignment with its business lines, SB Global has split its’ snack business into a new, separate company called Pretzel Pete, Inc. Pretzel Pete has now begun trading under its own name and all pretzel snack business will be consolidated into Pretzel Pete, Inc. by the end of 2013.

SB Global president meets at White House
Karl Brown, president of SB Global Foods, Inc. participated in a business roundtable in the West Wing of the White House in Washington, DC on August 23rd. The meeting included twelve small business owners and was chaired by Fred Hochberg, Chairman of the U.S. Import-Export Bank of the United States and Jeffrey Zients, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). During the discussion, Mr. Brown along with the other small business participants shared insights on how the federal government can stimulate exports by the small business community.

SB Global launches pretzel snack with an Asian twist
SB Global Foods, Inc. will launch a new product extension of its Pretzel Pete snack line. Pretzel Pete “Pearls” are small, round-shaped pretzel balls flavored with Asian-themed seasonings packed in 4.5oz bags. Initial flavors will include Wasabi-, Szechuan- and Coconut Curry-seasoned. This brand new snack concept will be appearing in stores in the first quarter of 2011.
“Pretzel Pete Pearls represent the first full product line that combines a traditional U.S. snack base (pretzel) with popular Asian-flavors,” according to Karl Brown, president of SB Global Foods.
SB Global expects to leverage off several major demographic and cultural trends including the expanding palette of mainstream America to include Asian flavors and cuisine, the steady growth of the Asian-American population within the U.S. and the ongoing demand for new and bolder taste profiles.
“Pretzel Pete Pearls feed into all three of these trends and delivers an impactful, truly unique snack experience at a very reasonable price,“ adds Brown.

Pretzel Pete launches in Duane Reade drug stores.
Pretzel Pete is now available throughout the greater New York City region thanks to its recent placement in the Duane Reade drug store chain. Hungry New Yorkers will be able to find Pretzel Pete’s 9oz boxes in all 300+ Duane Reade locations. Duane Reade was recently the target of a buyout by Walgreen’s and is by far the dominant drug retailer in the New York metro area.

SB Global teams with Doumak and German importer, Genuport, to create the “World’s Largest Muffin.”
In support of Doumak’s Rocky Mountain Marshmallow-brand, SB Global, German importer, Genuport, and a local Hamburg-based bakery teamed up to bake the World Largest Muffin. The muffin weighed 80kg (over 175 lbs) and was certified by The Guinness Book of World Records.
The event, which was covered extensively by the German media, also featured the leading German girl pop band, Queensbury. In the photo, Dominique Samstag’s, SB Global’s European Sales Manager, can be seen far left in the photo holding the American flag.
Rocky Mountain Marshmallows are the #1 barbecue-style marshmallow in the German-market selling 2 million bags annually. SB Global is responsible for all sales and marketing of Doumak’s marshmallow brands (including Rocky Mountain- and Campfire-brands) outside of North America.

Pretzel Pete wins another Award! Pretzel Pete has been announced as the winner of a recent contest by Frontier Magazine, the premier magazine of the on-board, airline, duty free travel industry. Pretzel Pete won clear first place in the October 2009 “Buyers Forum” where three corporate buyers for various airline, duty free retail chains and food service companies evaluate various products. SB Global Foods, Inc. has announced the sale of its Marshmallow Zebras brand to Doumak, Inc. effective immediately. Doumak has been the supplier of the marshmallows for the Zebras product since its inception in 2007. Doumak intends to co-brand Zebra with its existing Campfire and Rocky Mountain marshmallow brands. Under the terms of the sale, SB Global will continue to handle the sales and marketing of Marshmallow Zebras outside of North America under the same arrangement as with all the Doumak marshmallow products.

Pretzel Pete “Hot” Nuggets honored at national Fiery Foods Competition! Pretzel Pete Sour Cream Habanero nuggets was lauded in the recently completed Fiery Foods Challenge sponsored by Chili Pepper Magazine. Pretzel Pete placed second in the Salty Snack category at the ZestFest 2009 held this month in Fort Worth, Texas.

Pretzel Pete launches in Korea.
SB Global Foods, Inc. has announced that it has launched its Pretzel Pete brand in South Korea in partnership with its local importer Lotus Korea Co. LTD. Lotus will be positioning Pretzel Pete as a premium snack product taking advantage of its existing distribution base among major Korean department and grocery store chains. Expected sales volumes were not announced but strong initial sales off take has prompted an earlier than anticipated re-order following the initial launch.

SB Global Foods, Inc. Is pleased to announce the launch of its Marshmallow Zebras product line. The product was launched at the NASFT Fancy Food Show in San Diego, CA on January 14th.
Zebras consist of a classic American marshmallow with dark chocolate stringing in a Zebra stripe pattern. Unlike tradional enrobed marshmallows where the chocolate overwhelms the marshmallow, Zebras provide a true blend of the delectable dark chocolate with the fluffy texture and vanilla flavor hint of the marshmallow.
Zebras are packed in an elegant 4.5oz (125g) resealable stand-up pouch. The pouches are packed 15 to each eye-catching display carton.

SB Global Announces Opening of European Sales and Marketing Office.
SB Global president, Karl Brown, announced the opening of the company’s first ever overseas sales and marketing office in Kaltenkirchen, Germany. The office became operational on May 2nd and is staffed by Dominique Samstag.
Mr. Samstag was formerly a Product Manager for the large German import company, Genuport Trade AG where he was responsible for the brand management of Rocky Mountain Marshmallows in Germany. In addition to Rocky Mountain, Mr. Samstag was also the product manager within Genuport for other large brands including Pez, Oreo cookies, Look-o-Look, among others.
Mr. Samstag will be in charge of managing the SB Global portfolio of products throughout Europe including working with the company’s existing importers as well as establishing new importer relationships.

SB Global president named as SBA “Exporter of the Year” The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that SB Global Foods, Inc. president, Karl Brown, has won its 2007 Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Exporter of the Year Award. The selection was made by a panel of 23 judges representing lending institutions, small business owners, and economic development organizations. The award will be presented at the June 13th Philadelphia Phillies baseball game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA.
